背景

《Let it be》实际上在1969年1月就已经录制完毕。

《Let it Be》作为Beatles最后一张单曲。在1970年3月6日发行。

虽然在《Abbey Road》中，还有很多Paul写给John的歌。

但在《Let it be》里，Paul显然已经知道，Beatles作为团队的团结已经一去不复返了，他对自己所做的努力已经绝望了。

在那个时候，John更喜欢把时间花在Yoko身上，而且创作理念也因此发生了极大的变化。

Yoko总是出现在录音室，让其他三个Beatles都十分的反感。

George沉浸在印度宗教中，这从他的许多作品中得以体现。而且十分不满意自己不受重视的地位，已经退出乐队一次了。

因为气氛很差，Ringo也在录制White Album的时候短暂退出过。

“在经理人Epstein先生过世以后，我觉得我们都很消沉”，Paul说，“我们不再乐观了，所以开始厌倦了团队形式的存在。没有任何积极的一面，干什么都拖拖拉拉的。吸毒并不是解决它的办法，我们四个人应该好好想想，我们应该振作起来还是选择忘却。”

在因为感觉缺少组织性和纪律性，乐队很难再发展，Paul在便开始尝试着担任领队的角色。

虽然Paul的角色也许很重要，但他受到了其他人的抵制。

Paul在录音室里督促和教训其他人，让另外三人很愤恨。

Paul所做的一切，不但没有让情况好转，反而加速了Beatles的破裂。

加在他身上的压力越来越大，Paul再能做的，只有“Let it be”，随他去吧。

“当所有的生意和事业上的问题开始出现问题的时候我很消沉，并写下了它”，Paul说。“我真的处于我人生中黑暗的时刻，写歌是我净化灵魂的方式。”

他以现代的方式写了一首圣歌赞美诗。由于对“Mother Mary”的祈祷出现在歌词中，歌曲宗教的意味加强了。

但事实上，“Mother Mary”指的是Paul自己的母亲Mary。

他想象自己的妈妈出现了，并给了他能支撑下去的力量。

“从前，我胆小多疑，总是躺在床上胡思乱想”，Paul回想，“有一个晚上，我梦见了我妈妈。她在我14岁那年就去世了，我没怎么受过她的骂。这是好事，给了我很大的力量，——在我人生最黑暗的时候，Mother Mary来到了我的身边。”

“Let It Be”这句充满大智慧的短语，也非Paul原创，而是他的父亲Jim十分喜欢说的，Paul写出他母亲Mary来到他身边这样说，可能也与此有关。

伟大的披头士乐队已经很长时间没有新专辑问世了，虽然乐队已经解散了30多年的时间，但是披头士乐队的音乐却依然在世界上广为流传，虽然没有新专辑发行，但是乐队的每一张精选集都能够吸引无数歌迷的目光，乐队的前一张冠军单曲精选集《The Beatles 1》曾经在2000年的时候以单周将近60万张的销量成为了Billboard 200排行榜的冠军，而这张专辑则是披头士乐队解散以来真正的一张完整的录音室专辑，在发行短短一周之后就售出了28万张，轻松的成为了Billboard 200排行榜的第5名。

这张专辑之所以被称之为是完整的录音室专辑原因就是他完全取自披头士乐队发行的最后一张专辑《Let It Be》，当初，这张早在1969年就已经录制完成的专辑因为乐队成员约翰列侬和保罗麦卡特尼以及乐队当时的经理克莱恩都同意把所有的单曲都交到美国著名的音乐制作人菲尔斯派托(Phil Spector)手里，重新运用其他的乐器以技术手段重新进行混合录音，并且最终于1970年麦卡特尼宣布离队后不久发行。而这张专辑则是去除了当时斯派托重新混音后的，1969年录制的原始版本，由于去掉了后期合成混音，以及原版本中的粗糙的杂音，专辑也被非常形象的取名为“Naked”。

虽然这是披头士乐队的原始录音版本，但是经过了30多年时间和历史的沉淀，人们早已经被先入为主的思想所占据，尽管这张专辑是真正原汁原味的披头士乐队的作品，并且经过仔细认真的处理，使音质和制作更为精准，但是听起来似乎仍然没有前版本的《Let It Be》给人的感觉更好，有些时候当乐队的某个瞬间已经成为经典而永远的被铭刻了几十年，此时再往这个瞬间上添减任何一笔都会让人感到不舒服，而这就是《Let It Be... Naked》给人的感觉，同时由于商业化的操作，大量的宣传等商业手段的介入，使这张原本“纯粹”的披头士专辑似乎被浓重的商业气息所玷污了。由于那个时代披头士的音乐大多成为了经典，恐怕现在再有任何的改变都会让人不认同，尽管像这张专辑经过“净化处理”之后依旧是非常不错，但是也很难令人改变意见。况且 《Let It Be》这张专辑的原始版本，也就是1969年初“强行录制”的暂定名《Get Back》的专辑其实是在披头士乐队内部出现巨大争论，矛盾重重，人心思变的情况下，非常低效录制出来的专辑，本身并不能代表披头士乐队的真正水平，特别是与乐队最后一次录制的专辑《Abbey Road》相比较，更是突显不足，本身乐队都已经不准备把这些单曲发行了，但是在制作人菲而斯派托的重新加工下，最终作为电影原声而发行，并且其中的单曲混录的已经非常出色，而现在居然“去其精华，留其糟粕”虽然经过加工但仍然是不太能够令披头士音乐的歌迷们接受的，因为他们体现不出披头士的实力，和披头士乐队的地位是不相符的，因此这张期待已久的专辑让人感到失望也就不足为奇了。
