听力理解是人们在有声语言交际过程中的一个重要前提，也是诸多英语考试中的一项不可轻视的内容。国家教育部试行《大学英语课程教学要求》后的第一件事就是对大学英语四、六级考试题型和考试内容的比例进行了大幅度的修改，加大了听力理解考试部分的比例，由原来的20%增至35%，并自2005年6月起在全国大学英语教学改革试点院校中试点实施，2007年1月在全国各院校全面推行实施。这一大刀阔斧的改革行为本身在给大家传递一个信息：人们越来越重视语言交际能力培养过程中的听力理解能力培养，同时也在明确地向考生表明，大学英语四级考试中听力部分所占的偌大比例对于他们能否取得理想的考试成绩将举足轻莺。
